Fire Department

In 1988, a new district fire hall was built and includes all the latest fire-fighting equipment.  Twenty-four hour fire protection is provided with a volunteer fire-fighting force.

 

Utilities and City Services

  • The city maintains its own sewer and water service and garbage pick-up. 
  • Electricity is provided by Montana-Dakota Utilities.  BEK Communications provides Fiber Optic lines, Cable TV and Internet access. 
  • The city is governed by the mayor and the city council. 
  • Water is supplied by the city from four wells.  Maximum daily capacity is 450,000 GPD, and the peak load is 250,000 GPD.  Overhead storage capacity is 70,000 gallons. 
  • The city has storm and sanitary sewers and has a gravity flow type treatment plant

 

Housing


Strasburg has three modern apartment complexes with 16 one-and two-bedroom units.  More apartments are in the planning stage.  There are numerous improved lots for sale on Main Street and around the City. 
A mobile home court is available with full service hook-ups. 
Strasburg is also an excellent retirement community.

Strasburg Care Center

Strasburg Care Center is licensed for 76 skilled beds.

Services provided include:  24 hour nursing care, dietary management, social services, activities, housekeeping, and laundry services.  St. A's provides telemedicine for residents and area people.

 Strasburg Care Center employs about 100 employees including people from Strasburg, Hague, Zeeland, Linton, Hazelton, Pollock SD, and Herreid SD areas. They also employ college students and high school students from the areas, to work in the summertime, on their vacations, and some weekends.

Linton Hospital, 10 miles to the north, has up-to-date medical services, with medical transport to any major medical facility. 

Ambulance services are provided to the town.

 

 

First Responders

Strasburg has a team of First Responders in our area who are on call 24/7.  They are notified when there is a emergency in our area and are the first people to respond to it.

 

 

 

Strasburg Mail Services

The Post Office is open 6 days a week.  Postal service Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 9 to 10 AM.  UPS and Federal Express delivery in the area also, and pickup service can be arranged.
