I have fond memories of living in Strasburg in the late 60s. My father was the police chief. I plan on visiting soon someday.

I remember when I was a child, many times that I watched Lawrence Welk on Saturday Night on tv. This was a really good show and I wish that there were more like him performing now...He was Great... Someday I hope to go to this fair city and enjoy his birthplace...

We moved to Aberdeen. S.D. in the middle of my 8th grade. My father was ONE of Lawrences older brothers. I went back for a visit in July 2007 and was very impressesd by the cleanliness of this burg. Both parents are interred at Sts P&P cemetery. Louie and Katherine Welk.

Made mom's day, or should I say year, to dance with Lawrence Welk. We steadfastly watched him on TV after I got over the German accent. Am touring ND on the net and plan to visit in June. Should visit Strasburg. Who's playing the accordian? Is it Lawrence or Mike Dosch? I'm originally from Elgin. Live in CA now. Have the most controversial page on the net because it has the whole truth - eli3.tripod.com.

I like to come to the website to see how the town is going. I graduated from SHS in 2003. It is sad to see how some of the teachers have left, but makes me even happier to see what teachers are still there. Living in Strasburg was one of the better towns to live in, at least that I have experienced. Congragulations on keeping the town on the maps!!!

My nephew Andrew just started working on their elevator for JD construction. About 10 miles away to the north in Linton, ND is a Don's Motel. You can find it going to goggle.com and entering don's motel linton nd Someone else wanted a good map. http://www.dot.nd.gov/road-map/county-base/index.htm The county is Emmons. Wow, birthplace of Lawrence Welk.
